Apollo Intensa Emozione
Gumpert produced the striking Gumpert Apollo from 2005 until its bankruptcy in August 2013. In 2016, a Hong Kong consortium took over the company's assets and renamed it Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH. The new organisation explored various designs and almost launched the Gumpert Arrow that same year but ultimately revealed one of the most impressive designs to date at the end of 2017: the Apollo Intensa Emozione, which means 'Intense Emotion' in Italian. This extraordinary car features a 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine sourced from Ferrari, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in just 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h). Only ten units of this Hypercar will be made, each costing $2,670,000 U.S.
The Intensa Emozione is primarily constructed from carbon fibre, but it also features components made of high-strength steel, aluminium, and titanium. The engine bay remains open to ensure optimal air intake efficiency. Overall, the chassis has a lightweight design, weighing just 105 kg (231 lb).
The F150 Ferrari engine delivers around 780 hp at 8,500 rpm and approximately 760 NM of torque at 6,000 rpm, with a redline reaching 9,000 rpm. All this power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed Hewland sequential manual transmission, and the car weighs in at 1,250 kg (2,755 lb). The dampers, crafted by Bilstein, are three-way adjustable for comfort, sport, and auto settings.
The Intensa Emozione is equipped with Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, featuring 380 x 34 mm sizes at both the front and rear, along with 6-piston callipers in the front and 4-piston callipers in the rear. Michelin provides high-performance Sport Cup 2 tires to ensure optimal grip and performance, while Pankl Racing Systems supplies the differential. This remarkable car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in just 2.7 seconds and is projected to reach a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h) generating a maximum downforce of 1,350 kg (2,976 lb) at 186 mph (299 km/h).
