Pininfarina Battista

Established in 1930 by the famous Italian coachbuilder Battista "Pinin" Farina, Pininfarina has become synonymous with supercar and luxury car design, partnering with esteemed brands such as Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, and Maserati. The connection between these legendary names and the Pininfarina logo is so profound that it feels as essential to the cars as their wheels. Yet, many people are unaware of the vast array of Pininfarina's design projects beyond these elite brands. Throughout the years, they have also designed for Fiat, GM, Lancia, Daewoo, and Hyundai. Moreover, their impact reaches into the Chinese automotive sector, where they have worked on designs for AviChina, Changfeng, JAC, Chery, and VinFast.

Over the past four decades, Pininfarina has expanded its range of offerings, exploring the design of high-speed trains, buses, trams, yachts, airplanes, private jets, and even interior spaces. Now, they have boldly launched their own electric Hypercar, named after the founder—the Pininfarina Battista. This extraordinary vehicle features 50% of its parts derived from the Rimac Concept Two, equipped with 120 kWh Rimac batteries that power four individual motors, one for each wheel, producing an incredible 1,877 bhp. The Battista is built on a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis and comes with 21-inch Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, which are stopped by impressive 15-inch carbon-ceramic discs, each gripped by six high-pressure pistons for quick deceleration. The car's active rear wing improves braking performance by lifting during hard stops. Like the Rimac Concept Two, the Battista's battery cells are cleverly placed low in the vehicle, arranged in a compact 'T' shape that runs along the central tunnel and extends behind the driver and passenger seats. With only 150 hand-crafted units planned for production, Pininfarina asserts that the Battista can sprint from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in just 2 seconds and reach 186 mph (299 km/h) in 12 seconds, with a maximum speed surpassing 217 mph (349 km/h).
